Protection from head to toe is vitally important for two-wheeled enthusiasts. Propermotorcycleboot selection often takes a back seat to other gear decisions, however, and the reality of this is made clear when looking at crash-related injuries. According to recent statistics, more than 80% of motorcyclists who crash suffer injuries to their legs and feet in particular. Since footwear is the only thing keeping you and the bike upright on a regular basis, MCUSA has provided a breakdown of the best kicks in its 2011 Motorcycle Holiday Gift Guide to Boots.

Alpinestars Supertech R Vented Boots

Alpinestars? Supertech R Vented Boots have been my go-to boots when it?s time to hit the track. The vented design keeps my sweaty yams cool even when the mercury rises, and the removable booty is easy to pull out and let air dry. The side zipper and single ratcheting buckle makes entry and exit a breeze. Also, the micro-fiber is flexible enough while walking around after your track session. While on the bike, that flexibility allows for unhindered movement fore and aft. The only recommendation I would make is to upgrade the toe sliders to magnesium units right away if you tend to drag your toes. ? Justin Dawes
