Teens Split $10K Hit-and-Run Reward

Two Colorado teens split a $10,000 reward for aiding a fatal hit-and-run motorcycle accident investigation. Jason Perez Jr. and Steven Sanchez claimed their share of a Law Tigers Hit-and-Run Reward following the conviction of Efrain Villegas for vehicular homicide.

The accident occurred on July 16, 2010, in the Denver metropolitan area. Perez and Sanchez witnessed the then 25-year-old Efrain Villegas collide with 59-year-old motorcycle rider Jon Brand and his fianc�e passenger, Debbie Pyatock. Villegas then fled from the scene in his car, with Perez and Sanchez giving chase in their own vehicle. Villegas was later apprehended by police.

Brand, a Vietnam Veteran and long-time rider, died in the accident, with Pyatock injured. Villegas plead guilty to vehicular homicide while driving under the influence. Colorado department of corrections records state Villegas was sentenced to nine years in prison in April of 2011.

The Denver Post reports the cash reward was presented to the good Samaritans on December 15 at the Freedom Harley-Davidson dealership in Lakewood, Colorado.

The reward is offered by Law Tigers, an association of motorcycle accident attorneys. The group offers a $10,000 Hit-and-Run Reward ?to any third person who provides information that leads to a felony conviction of the criminal.?
